Considering the origins of Dr.Lipp, nipples are very close to our heart – both literally and in spirit. So when I heard about the concept of people bleaching their nipples… well it’s safe to say I was listening!
I did a little bit of digging and found a HUGE number of websites offering products and advice related to nipple bleaching, and although I must admit I wasn’t personally tempted, I was absolutely intrigued.
Apparently the trend comes from from a belief in Japanese culture that a lighter pink colour is more pure and desirable than brown. Now I don’t know about that; here at Dr.Lipp we support all nipples – great and small, brown or pink.
However, given the fact that Asia always seems to be five steps ahead of the rest of the world in terms of skincare, and that brightening products are quite common overall, I suppose it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the beauty market has capitalised on this belief and created a whole array of creative “solutions”.
From creams to masks to serums, it seems there’s just about as much variety for your nipples as your face!
Between you and me, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about the whole thing! It initially sounds quite absurd, but then again… how many of the ridiculous things I do or have done to myself each day/week/month might sound absurd to someone from another culture?
In absolute fairness, the concept of the vajazzle managed to make its way out of Essex so I suppose the sky’s the limit!
For now, though, I think I’m quite happy keeping things natural. The only product going anywhere near my nipples is Dr.Lipp!
