Gloss, gloss & more gloss. That’s what we’re all about, here at Dr.Lipp, and with Spring FINALLY here it’s that time of year when everyone wants to look dewy and fresh. However, this season’s trends are taking that classic glow one step further, and insisting we embrace a glossy look when it comes to eye makeup!
I must admit, at first it seems intimidating and a bit avant-garde, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be catwalk-level intense; even the slightest hint of gloss can create a really beautiful, fresh effect that elevates your usual look in an almost undetectable way.
We saw this trend throughout September’s fashion season – especially NYFW – when the looks for Spring/Summer 2017 were being unveiled, so it only makes sense that this makeup movement should be gaining momentum as those collections become seasonally relevant.
Whether you want a full on wet-look bold statement eye, or just a hint of dewiness, we’ve got you covered. As 100% medical grade lanolin, Dr.Lipp is perfectly safe to use around the eye area, which is incredibly important to consider before applying any sort of gloss to your lids, as the eyes are one of the most sensitive areas of the face, and are incredibly susceptible to irritation.
As it’s entirely translucent, it’s quite a fool proof product and looks absolutely beautiful on its own, as part of an effortless, natural look. However, if you do want to take it up a notch, any shadows you apply directly on top are likely to appear much more pigmented than usual as they stick to the gloss.
If you feel like going a bit more bold, instead of just applying it underneath or over the top of your usual shadows, you can create your own custom gloss shadow by mixing pigments directly with Dr.Lipp. How much or how little shine you want is up to you, and I think it may take a bit of trial and error to absolutely nail, but this is such a fun trend to try out as the days grow longer and warmer. If nothing else, it can’t hurt to try new things… and at least your lids will be well-nourished and moisturised!
