It’s that time of year again… resolutions all around! If you’re anything like me you always start off with the best of intentions – eat healthily, wake up with the sun, finish that huge project you’ve always dreamed about – and burn out by February. Not this year, darling! This time around we’re going to be making small changes with a big difference.
Take More Photos
There’s nothing worse than looking back and realising you missed the perfect opportunity to capture a special moment forever. Whether you adore instagram or looove to spend your free time creating scrapbooks full of memories, making a conscious effort to take more photos in your day to day life is such a great way of teaching yourself to appreciate the little moments. At the very least you’ll never be without a fabulous profile picture!
Make Me-Time A Priority
It’s so easy to spend all of our time worrying about other people and forget to take care of ourselves. Not this year! From long baths to going for walks or setting aside time to just relax and read a magazine, it’s important to learn when to take a break and just focus on you.
Take The Small Steps
Big goals are absolutely brilliant. Always aim high! But every big goals is made up of small steps, and although it may seem like they’re insignificant at the time, I proooomise you… the little steps add up. So send that email, take that trip and book yourself into the class you’ve been thinking about for the last year. Every small step you take gets you closer to your fabulous end result!
Keep A Journal
Mindfulness is all the rage for self-improvement right now, and one of the best ways to train your mind is journaling. It’s also a great way of keeping track of your thoughts and processing feelings… everyone needs an outlet, and keeping a journal is much better than letting it all out on social media, don’t you agree?
Set A Technology Bedtime
Oh aren’t we all just SO in demand these days!? It’s hard to find a moment of peace between emails, texts and social media. But that’s why it’s so important to set your own boundaries. Switching off your technology an hour or so before you go to bed is proven to give your beauty sleep an extra boost, and being off the grid for a little while each day is healthy is refreshing. Put down your ipad and pick up a book!
